If you've been stopping by for any amount of time you'll have picked up on the fact that I am a pretty casual girl. I have more pairs of jeans than I care to admit, and my t-shirt/tank/sweater drawers spill over.
When I first started blogging, and visiting other blogs, my casual style became very evident to me. A lot of these other bloggers were donning beautiful flowy, frilly dresses and skirts, and here I was doing my boyfriend jeans, graphic tees, and fedoras. For a moment, I felt kind of one dimensional, like I didn't have range. So, of course, inspired by them, I went out and got some skirts and dresses to add variety to my repertoire. Some of them I loved and still wear when the mood strikes. Some I ended up giving away with the tags still on them.
All this to say, at just shy of 44 years old, I am completely comfortable with the fact that I am, at my core, a casual girl. I enjoy the occasional dress-up moment, but at the end of the day, my jeans (and tees) are always what I end up reaching for. And I am ok with that.
Here, I used this gorgeous embroidered lace top, along with a beaded clutch and eye-catching heels, to "dress up" my jeans. If you're a jeans girl like me, adding the right accessories is the perfect way to get away with wearing jeans to a place where other women might be wearing dresses. ;-)
